VITALITY FITNESS ASSESSMENT
The assessment is made up of two parts – a cardiovascular test on a watt bike or treadmill and a strength and flexibility test, consisting of a battery of 7 tests, both of which together can give you a well-rounded understanding of your fitness level. You will also get corrective exercises to improve areas of weakness and limited range of movement to help prevent injuries and improve their functionality
You can earn 2 500 Vitality points for doing the assessment and your Vitality points can be boosted up to 7 500 based on your fitness level. Factors affecting your Vitality Fitness Assessment result • Heart rate response score• Strength and flexibility score • Weight status
- The fitness assessment will take approximately 35 to 45 minutes to complete.
- The Cost of the assessment is R 460. You will need to pay for the assessment upfront. If you are on a medical scheme plan with a medical savings account and available funds that covers the cost, you can claim this amount back from the scheme (unless you have a general waiting period). If you are a Discovery Life policy holder, you will need to pay for the assessment yourself.
- Payment methods include Cash, Card or an EFT(to be done on the same day)
- Please wear comfortable training clothes as there are physical tests involve
- If you have a device (Fitbit, Polar, Garmin watch) that tracks your heart rate, please bring it along.
- DO NOT EXERCISE OR ENGAGE IN PHYSICAL ACTIVITY BEFORE THE TEST

MULTIPLY FITNESS ASSESSMENT
*Home and Gym visits
What will be measured?
- Body composition – Blood pressure, weight, height and waist
- Muscle strength – Handgrip (required), 1min push-up (optional) *(if both is done, your best result will be used).
- Cardiorespiratory Fitness
Wear comfortable clothing, like track pants, tights or shorts and running or walking shoes. You will receive comprehensive feedback and an overall fitness level (between 1 & 5) which will be emailed to you. Do not train on the day of the fitness assessments, as it might impact your overall score. For only R420 and 30 minutes of your time, you will get your fitness level and expert advice to improve your results. The fitness assessment results will be valid for 12 months.
